Properties in St.Vlas
The village of Sveti Vlas (St.Vlas) is located just 4 km north of Sunny Beach and 9 km away from the town of Nessebar. Inhabited by about 3000 local people, it lies in the foot of Stara Planina mountain, thus offering a magnificent combination of sea and mountain climate. The total length of the adjacent beaches is about 1 km which makes the place perfect spot for a summer getaway. The eastern end of the village's coastal line hosts the small port of local fishermen.
It is believed that Sveti Vlas was founded by the Tracian tribe Larisi at the end of the 2nd century BC, bearing at that time the name Larisa. It was renamed Sveti Vlas in 14th century AD – after the patron saint of cattle growers and merchants.
During Ottoman rule (late 14th-19th century AD), the village appeared in administrative registrars as 'Manastir' ('Monastery') or 'Kyuchuk Manastir' after the five monasteries in the vicinity of the village. Unfortunately, none of the monasteries has been preserved up to present days. Officially, it restored its name of Sveti Vlas after the reunification of the Bulgarian state in 1886.
Currently, the village of Sveti Vlas is very well developed, and has the reputation of a prestigious summer resort with lots of high-class hotels and other developments –definitely a right place to invest by buying a property.
